What’s Special About this Place?

A small trek downhill leads you to the exotic meadows of Wahniangleng. Nestled between high mountains and crisscrossed by a small brook, this place is a hidden gem. The Umiew River flows through the vast landscape, adding an extra touch of beauty to the area.

Wahniangleng is primarily a grazing ground for cattle and livestock. However, it has become a popular spot for visitors, thanks to social media and selfie culture. As you explore, you might even spot cows and bulls swimming across the river. The views here are breathtaking, with fresh, clean water and an amazing spot to relax and watch the sunset.

One of the most appealing aspects of Wahniangleng is the initiative to keep the area plastic-free. This not only preserves the natural beauty but also makes the environment more enjoyable for everyone.

Adding to the charm, you’ll find natural mineral water coming out of bamboo, giving the illusion of water flowing from a tree. The water is so clean and pure that you can drink it directly. It’s a truly unique and refreshing experience.

Wahniangleng offers a perfect retreat for anyone looking to unwind in nature. With its serene atmosphere and stunning scenery, it’s a place where you can truly relax and connect with the natural world.

Tips: Carry snacks and food if you want to sit and eat while experiencing the beauty of the place. You won’t find anything once you start trekking.

Our Story: We brought along a small camping stove, some gas, utensils, and a few packets of Maggi. Cooking by the river, sitting on the grass, and soaking in the stunning surroundings was an unforgettable experience. It might just have been the best Maggi we’ve ever had in such a beautiful place.
